Effective October 20, 2026
This policy explains how OneX Engineering (“we”, “us”) handles information in the GuideAI app for iPhone, Apple Watch and their widgets and extensions, and on the guideaiapp.com website. The short version:
GuideAI stores the following on your iPhone (and, where noted, your Apple Watch). We do not receive it.
If you are signed in to iCloud, GuideAI keeps your saved places, trips, notes, parking, visit history, settings and profile in sync across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit, in the private iCloud database tied to your Apple Account. Syncing chats, chat photos, workout photos and recent searches is off unless you turn it on. Data in your private iCloud database is stored by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy; we, as the app developer, cannot access it. You can turn sync categories off in GuideAI Settings → Profile → iCloud Backup & Sync, or turn off iCloud for GuideAI in iOS Settings.
GuideAI shares data directly with your paired Apple Watch, and, if you approve it, with a Mac running GuideAI over a direct local connection. Party Up shares the spots and votes in a group directly between nearby devices (using Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity), along with your device’s name. None of this passes through our servers.
Maps, search, directions, traffic, Look Around and place details use Apple MapKit, and weather uses Apple WeatherKit. To provide these, your location, searches and destinations are sent to Apple. Voice dictation in chat uses Apple’s speech recognition, which may send your audio to Apple for processing. Apple handles this data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
While you are using GuideAI turn-by-turn navigation, GuideAI looks up road details such as speed limits, lanes and speed-camera locations from OpenStreetMap. To do that it sends your current location, or the stretch of road along your route, to public Overpass API servers run by volunteers (the main servers at overpass-api.de are operated by FOSSGIS e.V. in Germany). These requests contain coordinates only, with no name, account or device identifier, but like any internet request they reveal your IP address. We do not control how long those servers keep request logs. Road data GuideAI receives is cached on your device for up to 7 days so repeat trips don’t need to ask again.
If analytics are on, GuideAI uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. They receive:
GuideAI does not send your name, contact details, precise location, searches, destinations, health data or chats to Firebase. It does not ask iOS for permission to track you, and the version of Firebase Analytics in GuideAI contains no code that reads your advertising identifier. Analytics and crash reports stay off until you turn them on, either during setup or in GuideAI Settings → Privacy & Support → Analytics, and you can turn them off again there at any time. See Firebase privacy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
When you use Apple Intelligence chat and it decides to look up the weather for a place, GuideAI sends the coordinates of that place (not your device’s location, unless that is the place you asked about) to Open-Meteo, a free weather service. You can turn the Weather tool off in the chat’s Tools menu.
If you choose to download an additional on-device AI model, it is downloaded from Hugging Face. The download request does not include your data, but Hugging Face sees your IP address.
If you search the web or open a link inside GuideAI, or open a place in Google Maps, Yelp, Uber, Lyft or another app, that site or app receives your request (for example, the search words, the place name or the destination) under its own privacy policy.
If you connect a fitness account (currently Oura, or Fitbit through Google Health), you sign in with that company, and GuideAI downloads your list of workouts from it and saves them to Apple Health on your device. The sign-in tokens are stored in your iPhone’s Keychain and are not synced. We do not upload any data to those services. You can disconnect at any time in GuideAI Settings → Activity & History → Fitness Devices. See the Oura and Google privacy policies. Workout files you import (GPX, TCX or FIT) are read on your device.
When you tap Share, GuideAI creates a guideaiapp.com link or image containing what you chose to share, for example a place, a trip, an event, a workout (which can include its route map, heart rate and elevation), a race with participants’ names and photos, a daily health summary, or a visit recap with place locations. The information is stored inside the link itself, so anyone who has the link can see it. We do not store shared content on our servers. When the link is opened in a web browser, the page reads it in the browser; to draw a route map, the browser requests map images from an OpenStreetMap static-map server (staticmap.openstreetmap.de), which receives the route’s coordinates.
With your permission, GuideAI uses your precise location to show you on the map, give directions and turn-by-turn guidance, look up road details, show local weather, remember where you parked, record the places you navigate to, and map your workouts. If you turn off Precise Location in iOS, GuideAI may ask for temporary precise location during navigation, workouts, parking detection or dash-cam recording. Location is used only to provide these features. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers or data brokers, and never used to build a profile of you.
You can change or remove GuideAI’s location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → GuideAI, turn off visit history in GuideAI Settings → Activity & History, and clear your visit history there.
We do not sell your personal information, including your precise geolocation and health information. We do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. GuideAI shows no ads and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We use sensitive information, such as precise location and health data, only to provide the features you ask for. Because we do none of these things, there is nothing to opt out of; if this ever changes, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and others), you may have the right to know and access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy, and to opt out of its sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. We honor these requests for all US users, whatever state you live in.
Because GuideAI has no accounts, we hold very little that can be tied to you: the data in section 1 never reaches us, and Firebase data is keyed to a random installation identifier rather than to your identity, so we cannot match an emailed request to it. To control that data yourself, use GuideAI Settings → Privacy & Support → Analytics: turning analytics off stops all further collection, and Delete Analytics Data erases the analytics data and unsent crash reports stored on your iPhone and replaces the random identifier, so data already sent can no longer be connected to your device. Data already sent is deleted at the end of the retention period in section 5. For anything else, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within 45 days and may need to ask for information to verify the request. You can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Privacy appeal”; we will respond to appeals within 60 days, and if you are not satisfied you may contact your state attorney general. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
The guideaiapp.com website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, so we do not track you over time or across websites, and Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change how the site works.
GuideAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
GuideAI relies on iOS data protection, the Keychain and Apple’s iCloud security, and its connections to the services listed above are encrypted (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. It has no analytics, advertising or cookies. Its pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address. Shared links are described in section 2.
If we change how GuideAI handles your information, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. For material changes, we will also tell you in the app, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
